April Uniform News

Hello Again Uni-Heads,

There has been major uniform news across several sports over the past few weeks.  Let's not waste any time and jump right into it.

NFL

Cleveland Browns

The Browns had already revealed a slightly different logo earlier in the year.

As you can see, there is a new shade of orange, the facemask color has changed, the fan section logo (Dawg Pound) logo has changed, and there is also a new font.  Pretty disappointing when it comes to new logos, but the team promised big changes to their uniforms.  Here is what the team will be wearing this coming year.

As you can see, the team will have three different jerseys (Brown, White, Orange), three different pants (Brown, White, Orange) and two different socks (Brown, Orange).  As for my opinion on the jerseys - I think they are just ok.  The first time I saw them, I immediately hated them, but now looking at them again, they're not terrible.

Here's my problem with them, its the huge CLEVELAND across the chest.  It's way too big and looks out of place on a football jersey.  It almost looks like a high school football jersey from the 90's.  The rest is just very unexciting and too bold.  The brown jerseys with the orange letters is a mistake.  There is no way they should not have white numbers, but they wanted bold and different and I respect them for committing to that.  Also, kudos for having many different combinations of jerseys and pants.  This can get the fans involved on social media on what the team should wear, and just gives fans another reason to watch (See: Oregon).  What may be overlooked the most is the textures that the numbers have.  Such a small detail but what a nice touch.

Overall, I would say this is an upgrade from last year's uniforms

NCAA Football

Now to College Football, where the North Carolina Tar Heels took a page out of the Brown's book and had a slight logo change as well.

Very nice change here by the Tarheels.  Keep on adding more argyle patterns, and you'll have a fan in me!

Purdue

The Boilermakers are adding a gray (anthracite, sorry Nike) alternate to their arsenal.

Army

New look for Army as well.

TCU

Holy Frogskin! New uniforms for the Horned Frogs of TCU as well.

NBA

Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks are revealing a new look for the upcoming season too.  New uniform news yet, but I am really excited about this one, even as a Bulls fan.

Washington Wizards

Also the D.C. basketball squad is doing something rarely done before - they are scrapping a logo in the middle of the season and using an entirely new one immediately.  Gone is the Dumbledore Wizard guy and in comes the political badge logo.

Los Angeles Clippers

Last but certainly least, the Clippers are changing up everything for some reason.  Why? Not too sure about that, maybe its the new owner, but one thing is for sure and that is that these uniforms better be a joke.

KILL IT! KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!!!!
Almost looks like a video game logo....

Lots of uni info in this one so I hope you all learned something.  I'm sure there will be much more information about these logos and uniforms in a couple months.

MLB New Jerseys 2015

Hello again Uni-Heads,

On Sunday, the MLB season officially began in a construction zone on West Addison Street (Wrigley Field).  This can only mean one thing for those obsessed with sports uniforms - new looks for several teams in the 2015 season.  Unfortunately, there are no major overhauls to look forward to.  However, there are a handful of minor changes that might go otherwise unnoticed.  Without further ado, let's step up to the plate and see these changes.

Arizona Diamondbacks

The D-backs will bring these original jerseys back as an alternate for a few games this year.

Miami Marlins

The Marlins will get rid of their seldom used orange caps and wear their road grays that they barely touched.

Minnesota Twins

The Twins are adding gold trim to their lettering in honor of the limestone that is outside of Target Field.

New York Mets

The Metropolitans are getting rid of their plain blue piped home jerseys and instead adding a blue pinstripe home jersey.

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Swashbucklers are going to add this camo monstrosity to their arsenal as an alternate.

San Francisco Giants

The defending World Champion Giants are adding this black top as an alternate.  Should be a sharp look for a night game.

Seattle Mariners

Seattle is bringing back their old colors in this cream colored alternate.  Very cool look!

St. Louis Cardinals

No changes for the Cards, but they are adding a memorial patch to honor Oscar Tavares, a promising prospect out of the Dominican Republic, who was tragically killed in a car accident last October.

That's it for now in baseball uniform news, but expect for some teams to release some more uniform information throughout the year!
